Sources and method
Every fact on a state page comes from a source that was opened on the date shown on that page.
Where the facts come from
- The page of the state agency that handles the license (health department, licensing board or professional regulation office), or the statute or rule it applies.
- Where the state site blocks automated access or shows the text only by script, a public copy of the same statute is used. The page says so.
What is left out
A fact the source does not give is omitted rather than guessed. A state whose rule could not be read and checked has no page. Some states regulate tattooing locally; the page says what the source says and no more.
This site summarizes what the text says. It is not legal advice and it is not the licensing authority: the rule in force decides.
